I get accused by the other half or driving like a boy racer or a grandad, one extreme to the other.

safe to say this was more grandad. Not bad mpg from the cupra 290ez

And I thought I’d done well.
I don’t think both averages over these miles will be achievable on uk roads when lockdown ends.

Gave the engine bay a clean. Happy enough with the results.

Looks good what steps were involved to cleaning it thinking of doing mine soon
I went over the whole bay with a detailing brush to get rid of any dust and debris then used a trim dressing which i sprayed into a bowl and the brushed on with a detailing brush to get a even coverage. Any large surfaces i brushed then gave it a quick wipe to get a uniform finish.

I've got the back seats folded down, a huge tarpaulin in the back and about 300 KG of garden rubbish waiting to go to the recycling centre very shortly. If I'm back on this evening asking how to replace a rear spring later, now you know!
You're more likely to be back later asking how to get rid of all the spiders and the slimey snail tracks on the inside of the back window

Surprised a 525 hp Audi R8 Spyder V10 when I was keeping up with him in my little budget estate. He was giving it the beans (you could tell because the sound was lovely) from about 50-110 mph. That particular car is about 250 kg heavier than mine so no surprise really. Still I think he thought he was gonna dust off the little Cupra easily but not many keep up with it, let alone outrun in.

Beyond those speeds I wouldn't stand a chance of course but anywhere up to 100 mph a properly tuned Cupra is very quick and I had just fine tuned my map for E30 blend

A lot of people underestimate a Cupra. Its even funnier when it's people in an S3 not knowing its the same car "But mine cost more so it should be faster"
True but the funny thing I find is around where I live it’s the Leon FR and Ibiza FR who try to race you the cousins Golf R and S3 just leave you to it

Wasn't done today, but forgot to post. Gave my FR a bit of TLC.
Gave it a heavy duty wash and decontamination and also a 2 stage polish using Koch Chemie F6 and M3.
Finished it off with Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax, which is amazing btw. Super easy, quite durable, and wonderful beading.
Would highly recommend Bilt Hamber Auto Foam and Auto Wash, both are amazing products for cleaning.

My brothers a professional detailer and works with a lot of Top end cars and swears by Bilt Hamber products like their snowfoam etc. It’s what I use on mine and works a treat

Changed the oil, filter and air filter on Saturday. Castrol Edge Titanium LL, Mahle and Mahle. Whoever decided to fit the oil filter housing upside down deserves a bloody good thrashing :banghead:.
