Only MIB2 will work with 8' Inch display!
Based on that wording is the MIB1 MIB2 system not part of the display itself? Always thought it was a computery bit on the back of the screen.

I'm in a 2014 Leon and ideally I'd like to retrofit the most modern / largest display and virtual cockpit from the newest Leon's but not sure how viable this is.

I've seen it done on the '14 Cupra 280 before but the guy on YouTube never really clarifies how he does it.

I have a September 2015 Cupra and not sure whether mine is the MIB1 or 2; how can I tell the difference?

My 6.5’ screen is identical to the one in the photo above.

6.5” screen should be MIB2. It’s the smaller 5.5” screen that is MIB1.

MY2016 was when MIB2 started. So September 2015 onwards from memory.

Today me and my mk3 Leon had a brush up with a wooden fence.

Minor but incredibly annoying and the first body damage I've put on it :(

Any tips for getting the dent out?
If the handle scratch has gone through the paint (clear coat gone) will it continue to wear with use, hands touching it and rain?

Dent devils will fix that dent no bother, and I would T Cut the handle and touch up the paint myself as after a bit of time of rubbing it down it will be invisible (well it was on my black car)

Contacted Alex at vw-retrofit.co.uk and got a very quick response back fair play.

He said he could retrofit my 2014 MIB1 infotainment for the Discover Pro MIB2 with nav and carplay (yes!!!) + 8" screen - quoted just over £1k.

I guess the question is what benefits do I get with discover pro other than carplay and more responsiveness? I only really wanted carplay and £1k is more than I was looking to pay for it.

Ayy good to hear! I'm not sure what a tcut is? But I'm guessing I'd be polishing down what's there, basic paint fill in then some clear coat?

Spot on, just some more rubbing down of the new paint with a day or so between coats, before the clear coat.

I’ve been scanning through this thread trying to find a post about retro fitting an auto headlight switch from an Octavia with parts off eBay. Can someone point me in the direction of the part or the previous post

Cheers, kev

Got some new front Treads today obviously it had to be ps4's, noticed the difference straight away. Only downside I had argument with the manager at F1 auto center for not putting my gator rims back on the alloys.

I always thought 'diamond cut' rims were not advisable to use Alloygators (at least that's what alloygator website said). Judging from the pics, seems in good condition, though I noticed some minor scratch/scrapes, was that before you put the gators on or after? Or after they replaced the tyres?

That’s the first time the gator rims have been off. I was very happy with what little/minor scrapes that the gator rim has left behind compared to any brushes with curbs etc for the 18mths that they have been on. In my opinion worth every penny and as we know you can only get these alloys refurb about 3-4 times. This is my forever car so I would like to protect the wheels for as long as poosible, if they get too bad then I may just keep them as winter wheels and gets some new summer alloys( with gator rims)
