i was going to go black but bottled it as i may have to sell the car soon. I did them silver. looks good with my blue car i think. quite subtle which is ideal if forced to sell.

here's a pic of the calipers done with silver hammerite (smooth) at a cost of £6! Looks so much better than the yellow i had done previously! Don't know what i was thinking!

On my last car I found hamrite to be far better than any brake caliper paint. It had a better shade of post box red and the stuff works on top of rust. (always clean them up first though before painting with brake cleaner) I found caliper paint to be thin and flake quite easy with the heat. Also there red wasn't quite red. Though different brand maybe different.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but didnt want to spam with a new one, had a search and couldnt find the answer I was looking for... Am planning on painting my Calipers red with a yellow Seat Decal, I have an Onvi Yellow Leon Cupra and was wondering if anyone else had done similar to good effect?

I used Halfords red caliper paint on my Laguna, covers pretty well (I done 3 coats... just to be sure.. lol) and doesn't peel off or discolour (and it had been on there well over a year). I just gave them a real good wire brushing and washed them in brake cleaner first.

So will be doing the Leon's in next few weeks. :D

I have been thinking about painting mine up as one of my first simple mods, however I was thinking of painting a small initial area on the outwards face yellow letting it dry then sticking a CUPRA decal over this before painting the whole caliper in black and then carefully peeling off the decals to reveal the yellow.

Did a similar thing with my old Golf years ago and thought it may look quite smart on my onvi yellow cupra
