I have panasonic. Wish I would have got a alpine headunit. You cannot go wrong with them.

Sony stuff is usually crap/budget so avoid if possible.

I'd go for Pioneer if you want value for money as they have more features than the similarly priced alpine unit, however the alpine units definitely have the best sound quality.

If you are on a tight budget I quite like JVC as they do what they say on the tin.

I would avoid Sony as they are overpriced and overcomplicated.

Never really rated Kenwood either, they seem cheap to me.

i have factory fit BOSE Audi concert system in the A4 with 10 speakers and stealth sub.

In the KA is a kenwood single slot CD/MP3 running Infinity Kappa 6x9's in the rear, standard crappy Ford speakers in the doors and a Vibe sub and amp install

Had it now for 4 years & it's never missed a beat.

Exceptional Sound Quality & has onboard crossovers so I could run an Active front end which is why I was happy to pay the £600 it cost back in 2004.

I previously had Alpine's before this & fancied a change so went with what was at the time widely regarded as one of the very best sounding H/U's outside of Alpine's F1 series.

Alpine for me. Had 2 Alpine units now and can't complain about them at all. The iPod interface is the best that I have used (plug in and then you can can control the iPod from the HU)

because alpines are generally the best, and you cannot go wrong with their stuff. Also in the unlikely event something breaks they have got the best customer service and repair department out of the lot.
