sorry too highjack the thread but whats this fuse 38 upgrade i keep hearing about?? seen it on a few peoples signatures and on this thread, can anyone shine alight on it for me please? had a search for it but cant find anything

cheers :)

From a quick search (had to dig quite deep though!)
CENTRAL LOCKING (MY03 CARS)
A batch of MY03 cars have suffered from blown fuese on the central locking. The fuse in question is Fuse 38. This also effects the electic door mirror control. Although not confirmed, it appears that the incorrect rating fuse may have been fitted to this batch of cars. (Fuse box behind dash panel on right hand end face of dashboard - where it meets the door)

essential mods for leon?

remap (phase 1 is fine)
green cotton filter/ dv
good coilovers/top mounts
engine/transmission/dog bone mount
spacers/strutbrace
re bushed throughout
HIDS
tyres
aero wipers

there is no great need for exhaust, FMIC unless you want big power. if you want the leon to be a better car then stage 1 is fine. the suspension is what you need to concentrate on...nothing wrong with the stereo and speakers either.
everything in that list, once you have done you will realize why you didnt do it/change them sooner

sorry to ask but what are ARB's ???

and also what is a MAF

ARB's: Anti Roll Bars, they are fitted under the car at the front and the back. Basicaly cut down on the roll of the car when going around bends.

MAF: Mass Air Flow Meter, conected to the airbox and is used by te ECU to measure the air flow into the engine.

I was going to look at getting a lower S3 strut brace for my 150 FR+ mk1 in a couple of months as people reccomended it. However I'm not looking at getting a top brace as I dont fancy drilling to fit it. Is it a bit pointless only fitting the lower one or should I still see benefits from it? Plus from what I've read when doing searches the ARB's look like a bit of a pain to fit so how much would I be looking at for some decent ones and to have them fitted? Does myne already come with ARB's fitted but theyre just abit weak and feable so people end to upgrade them?

Cheers!

lcr splitter is a bit of a must if your fussed on asthetics (£21 at dealer). makes the car look much lower. (however i did smash mine off the other day and thats with std suspension!!) just ordered the bonnet seal for £7 from the dealer and the mk3 ibiza cupra front grille 'cupra' badge (with flag) was £8 (clips on as opposed to sticking on). just changed the brake fluid (with standard stuff at dealer) which has made an impressive difference to stopping power.

insignificant stuff i know but after taking redundancy last year i have a 'nothing over £30' budget so LOVING the cheap stuff...

does anyone have a part number for the individual 'C U P R A' lettering for the tail gate?

if fuse 38 were to blow, your doors shut, the fuse box sits between your doorcard and dash , so how are you going to replace it = stuffed , mines done easy and cost pennies to do , for the damage youd cause to fix if blown ,

i also goin to de lock which costs less than a tenner ,

lower S3 strut brace makes a difference , i got the top one but havent bolted it in yet ,

also boost hoses are something else im gona get , due to mine poping off the other day ,

As well as the stage 1 remap (plus panel filter and t.i.p upgrade) I would go for upper/lower strut braces, an uprated dogbone mount and some good tyres (gy eagle f1 asyms recommended).

Beyond that things start to get expensive with suspension, ARBs, exhaust etc. but of course all will offer an improvement.

Smaller mods I'd recommend are brighter bulbs, aero wipers and USB audio...
