What alloys for my Ibiza 1.4 S?

Hey everyone, i'm new to the forum. I have a totally un-moded 2004 Seat ibiza 1.4 S 5 door in colour blue. As i'm 17 i'm not looking to mod-up as insurance company would have a field day. Just looking for some alloys that will improve the look but not effect the performance of the car. Not looking for anymore than 16" at the very most. What alloys would work?

Best bet would be a set of pre-facelift Ibiza FR alloys (they are 16") for that OEM look or Ibiza Sport alloys.

worth every penny though, i love FR alloys

17 inch Cupra alloys fit a 1.4s with no problems do they?

Wont notice a performace decrease or anything?

Yes they fit and they are heavy and larger so they will prob slow down a 1.4 but only a little.

A few pplz reckon that 17" will really make the car handle like a sack of patatoes? Any thoughts anyone?

It won't effect the handling too much with the right size tyres.

17's on low profile tyres (205/45 R17) can = the same diameter as 15" on say 195/50 R15 tyres.

As long as you keep the diameter the same, the acceleration shouldn't be effected & neither should your speedo.

Obviously if the wheels are heavier than your previous wheels, then the weight increase will effect the rotating weight.

Tyres for 16's & 17's are very similar in price, so i would say go for 17's for that better look!

I love the older style Leon FR Alloys (5 split spoked ones).

Im running 17" on low 205/40/17 tyres and it handles fine to me but thats probably done to the sports suspension keeping everything in check

These are some pics of my old 1.2 on 15" sport radar alloys, these where brand new from the dealers and didnt actually cost me that much at all. I think they look 100x better than the steel wheels.

if you want 16" these are the standard 'Garay' alloys from the facelifted 1.4 sport, again i think these are quality alloys but may carry a bit of a premium as they are relativly new

or 17" from the face lift FR, one word of warning these, are really expensive, cheapest ive seen them go for is £500 without tyres

ive got 14" 5 spoke alloys on mine but im thinking about taking them to 16's

you do realise that if you get alloys and you havent already got them... you have to declare on insurance? most places, as long as there not standard will make you declare them as a mod.
