In the last week I have fitted a powerflex dogbone mount and a forge 007p dump valve. These small mods have made an amazing difference to my car, it's so much smoother and it can put down an awful lot more power down on the road.
The car has only done 18k miles but both parts were knackered!
I really can't recomend them enough:D

Oi! I've had the car since new....
The reason it was worn out is all the wheel hop that I've been getting since Revo.

There is a bit more vibration, mailnly at very low revs (e.g. when pulling away gently from about 1000rpm). I didn't tell my wife and she didn't notice that there was a difference :)
I'm more than happy with the trade off, as I was expecting much more vibration :D

In terms of value for money those mods are great, IMO the other really good VFM mod is the EIP short shifter (Just the short shifter, side-to-side adjuster not really needed IMO) excellent value and good fun

Agreed, I fitted one of those last year, good mod but I with that I had done the dogbone and dump valve first as IMHO they made the biggest difference.

Thanks for the reply.

Is it this one... http://www.shopwestec.com/product_p/e0307002.htm ...?

Does it make that much difference in a Cupra R..??

That's the one

I'd say 40-50% less throw (I think they say less but it feels 50%)

They can make some gear box's a little notchy but mine was great

Make sure you get the 'street' not 'competition', Grant and I tried both on my car and the competition version was ridiculous

Those were my first two mods. DV and Dogbone followed by shortshifter and TIP pipe.

The TIP made a great deal of difference in the driveablity. You can really notice the change in pickup.

Would recommend doing the TIP to go with the DV

Currently I have Revo, EIP short shifter, powerflex dogbone mount and 007p, and now it looks like I'm going to have to get a TIP:D
When I bought the LCR I said that I wasn't going to fit any mods...........

so, how is easy is it to fit then? Simple for a 'car tweaking newbie' or a friendly local garage jobby?

The DV took me 10 minutes to fit, the EIP short shifter took the same amount of time.
The dogbone took me a couple of hours, but most of that time was because I didn't have access to a vice. I got the mount of in 15 minutes as that just involved jacking up the car, removing the plastic tray from under the engine and the 4 bolts that hold the mount in place. The next step was easy as all you have to do is remove the single bolt holding the mount together. Next you just swap the original rubber with the powerflex poly bush.
Now the problem occured. I wasn't able to get the bolt that holds the mount together into it's captive nut:censored: . I tried for about 1.5 hours with no joy, finally my neighbour took pitty on me an let me use his vice. From that point the cars was back together in 15 minutes.

Lesson 1: GET A VICE!
