Well peeps..

ive had these fitted on Monday.... the EBC grooved disks and ds2500 pads paying out £520 for them all round...

they are making a nice though...not just on braking. Its an obvious noise like something is rubbing.... on the disk......

i spoke with the garage and they said its just the bedding in....but if its doing it when not breaking it purterbs me slightly.....

any ideas? i can understand they may be a little bit noisy when breaking but this is really noisy :(

Any help appreciated

Did they apply copper grease to the rear and side of the main body of the pad. (not actual braking material)

yeah i get the slight clicking sound im lead to believe that is normal
i think its something to do with the pad and air passing over the grooves as obviously the pads are always touching the disc

nope its not a faint clicking noise, its like quite a big clicking noise, and it happens when you don't apply brakes intemitedantly as well....

and when you turn in sometimes...

im not that impressed tbh, badger bill rcommended them as the best disk and pad set up......cost me £520 this lot! Not best pleased!

but does it get loader the faster you go as apposed to the usual of geting loader a slow speed which you usually get when a pad is rubbing

I wouldn't say it's the pads and discs but maybe the fitting. I have the same pads or my LCR with the OEM Brembo discs and mine make zero noise and the performance of the DS2500 pad is excellent.

Nowhere near, i.e. Norway.
I've never had what he calls "a big clicking noise" with my grooved discs. I've more like a cat's meowing. Higher speed, more high pitched cat.

In my opinion it's like someone said, something with the fitting.
And when "turn in sometimes" is mentioned, I think there's something wrong.
But, I'm compulsive about noises and sounds in my car, specially from what could come from the brakes.
My car is old now (7 yrs), so I know it and it's sounds.

Brakes should not make that kinda noises/sounds. I'm eager to see what the answer to this is/or can be.

if its any help i have had my discs checked by 3 different garages and all have said that they are fitted right . i got in contact with ebc who said that if they are making a noise then they are not fitted right and that the runout is wrong they also told me to try the discs on different bolt holes and leave out the retainer screw which i did , but no matter what position i fit them in i still have the very noisey clicking noise , also my mate at rapid fit had a look and measured the runout with a dial gauge and they were still fine , the hubs were cleaned to the point of shiny so no rust behind the disc , then i took the car to vw and they said the same ,then an independant garage and got the same answer. had them off myself and cleaned the slider pins and they have been copper greased. this is my 2nd pair as i sent the first pair back because of this noise .....also a google search tells me that this isnt the first time this weird noise has been heard from these discs... all in all its cost me a small fortune going to different garages for them to tell me what i know (that they are fitted right).... and im now at a loss as to what is causing it... and they aint cheap to buy wish i had stuck with OE ones
