Mine was corner weighted just before the Ring trip... and weighed in at just over 1100kg. I think the book weight is a little understated although they probably weigh it dry. Also bear in mind I've 2 race seats no carpets rears, although I've not even got started on stripping in completely yet and the cage has added much of the lost weight back.

Chris is right give it to me and m0rk for a weekend, we'll lose you 100kg!

My honest opinion, unless you're going to go all out then don't bother.

Btw Boyd, is your bonnet complete with cf spider or is it just a skin?

You mentioned your car weighs just over 1100KG and said '' i think the book weight is a little understated''. was this with an empty tank. or did you mean seat have over stated the actual weight ?

get what i mean ??:D

Understated the actual weight... although they might have taken their figures from an empty dry car.
My car was only less interior with a few minor weight saving mods then, with a 6 point bolt in cage as well. Think it had a full tank as well. Was two years ago that was weighed... loads loast since then!

A special place in Europe... Dr Rob's source, might be mistaken but I think it was a 'special' favour so probably not available.

I never got round to getting mine sprayed and fitting them, as I'm selling the Ibiza once she's rebuilt they'll either go with all the other spares or I'll put them up for sale!

front wings and bonnet already fitted on my Mk2, passenger door going on over next couple months (in association with bits from mOrk's dead cordy), drivers door probably not going on and rear hatch......dunno yet, maybe just shred the steel one and put a perspex window in it (reason being its a bit flimsy)

i have a mk 3 cupra, and i took my rear seats out (just to clean them), jack, spare wheel, carpets for the pure hell of it .. to be ohnist i think it made quite a bit of difference, even though my car looks like a monster truck, its all good, but seats are going back in monday! the back bounces around like i dunno wot, spins out on roundabouts, who needs a rear wheel drive car?

i usually remove all that stuff a few days before going on the 1/4, plus i've got a stealth shelf, speakers, sub & an amp so with all that removed and keeping the tank below half makes a big difference to the way the car handles and makes it feel shaper/faster.

Fitted the CF bonnet, baby battery & removed the subframe weight and it's braket so with those 3 things done i expect to have shaved off a good few kilos! The bonnet alone must be 10kgs. The new battery weighs 6.5kg so maybe a few more there. Going to weigh the battery all the other stuff i've removed just to see.
