The object is to cool the combustion chamber. The best setups out there are direct port, more even cylinder distribution and more consistent results. Water/methanol is used differently on diesel engines then in petrol engines.
Was indeed 3rd time lucky!
New controller wired in and all working perfectly.
Will now try and get it rolling roaded this week, if not it have to wait a couple of weeks.
Also thinking about adding a pre-turbo nozzle too
Just like to say thanks to Bruce @ methanol-injection uk for his help and speedy response in supplying replacement controllers.
that has surpised me! thought you would have at least had a bhp increase with a strong mixture on w-m!
as devon mikey boy said it may b more difference with a hybrid diesel!
There are more gains to be had with a hybrid or bigger turbo car.that has surpised me! thought you would have at least had a bhp increase with a strong mixture on w-m!

I think you need to get the map done to suit the added meth/water. A lot of the petrol boys dont get much gain until they advance the timing further to take advantage of the extra bang.I was disappointed but there you go. And was on a rolling road I've used many a time before (1st time over 16 years ago!).
It was an almost 50/50 mix too. I had it come in at max at 21 psi.
I tried reducing this to 15 psi when it came in full, but the engine over boosted and it was like a rev-limiter cut in!
I really need to do some proper logs when its warm outside. See if it at least has a cooling effect.
Agreed.Water/methanol is used to solve the problem of excessive cylinder temps, EGT temp and to help keep the inlet manifold and inlet temps down. Unless your engine has been heavily modified or you want it to run for hundreds of hours none stop you are not going to get these problems. If you don`t have the problems water/methanol isn`t going to do much to your engine. If you don`t have the problem you cannot fix it.

Well it probably will. Come the summer months when temperatures really do kick in you will notice you car feels fresher as you put your footdown and the watermeth kicks in. During those periods thats where you really gain power where the car typically would had suffered. I would go for a custom map definitely and make the most of the setup.
