Well, the problem in my car (after a week of fault finding/diagnosis) was that a single clip on the windscreen surround trim on the near side (passenger side) had not been fitted properly by a windscreen repair specialist. Quite why it took the problem 2 years to manifest itself in the symptoms described is a mystery (that's when the screen was replaced).

Anyhow, the garage (Wayside Seat in Milton Keynes) were quite helpful. Despite the fact that they had my car for a week (and I had one of their loan cars for a week), the repair only cost me £252 all in - including loan car insurance. I had a 20% contribution from Seat (despite not having had the car serviced within the franchises) and the dealer only charged me for 3 days' insurance.

Just happy it's been resolved now

Did any of you have any success if fixing any of your water leaks?

I found my drivers side footwell wet in February. I dried it out and kept an eye on it, but the probelm is now back and worse than ever. The drivers footwell and the one behind are sodden.

I've checked what I think is the a/c condensate drain and that looks fine. I've also had the hose on the windows to check the door seals but didn't noice any ingress. I'm starting to think it might be something underneath the car...

Yes I did sort it, eventually; I thought I posted an update at the time, but I cant seem to see it!

Basically the seat dealership thought it was a leaking windscreen. I got a windscreen fitter to look at it but he told me it wasn't the windscreen, so he stripped all the carpets back to find that water was actually coming in through the front bulkhead where the weld seams hadn't been properly sealed (there were several 2mm gaps). The fitter sealed all these up with silicone and the problem was sorted, no more water. I did end up £200 lighter for a job which should have been done in the factory. Never mind though at least my car was dry.

It took the chap about 6hrs to find and fix the leak, so it was by means obvious.

I've since sold the vehicle so whoever has it now should have dry carpets!
