I didnt say there was a wastegate on that particular turbo ,, i said why change someting that is already good.
I should have said why TRY and change something that is already good.

i also stated ,
There is no need to upgrade the wastgate on most diesel cars.
I did not say his car had one.

Regards bell

well, actually on a 'normal' turbo [a non-vnt] changing the wastegate can be useful if you wanna run high boost [providing the turbo itself can stand it]. You can change the wastegate spring or the whole wastegate actuator IIRC, do you confirm this as a knowledged tuner?

Im not on this forum to argue the difference between turbos ,, nor do i have time to answer all the questions on what people think or not think about wastegates.

Yes in some cases the wastegate can help for boost.

As i still say on most DIESEL cars there is still no need to change, the only way you would want to change is if the turbo was also changed.

My first post was aimed at the origanal poster, i did not intend to post what i posted to get questioned by all,

I thought such an expert tuner like you could enlight me on a small subject I was curious about,,,
These are not the sorts of answers I would have expected from a "performance Remap Specialist"

Fare point m8 ,, i dont mind answering questions.

But what i dont have time for is a full on debate about turbos , wastegates etc etc ..

I answerd the origanal question that was posted and did not expect questions aimed at me, i only answerd because i was making a contrubution to the thread i did not want to start a debate on turbos

If ive offended you m8 then im sorry.
