Would I be wasting my time just changing the speakers in my LCR?

I've searched & can't really find a proper answer.
Just traded i my 52 plate Leon Cupra & got an 05 LCR. People keep saying the speakers aren't as good in the newer Leons & I'm starting to think they're right as it doesn't sound quite as good.
Not really sure if I want to change Head unit as The last 2 cars I did any Ice upgrades in got broken into, so would like to keep it standard looking.

Cheers!

Only worth it if you're changing the HU in my opinion. The speakers aren't up to much but the standard unit won't get the best out of aftermarket speakers.

Most stereos have removable front fascias nowadays...

I always thought the standard speakers were good in the leon but i totally rewired my stereo in my LCR and it does sound good without floating my own boat too much, i got into a LCR we had at work with just a HU in and a sub and it sounded a bit pants TBH

Well in all fairness if you really want to keep the factory H/U then there is no reason why you couldnt buy an amp & new components

If you buy a line level to RCA ISO connector then you can wire the amp to the factory H/U via Line Level ISO & run the new speakers from the amp.

Giving you the best of both worlds...better speakers & more power, just not that great SQ because of the Factory H/U

What you need is about halfway down this page if it helps at all...

They do one for 2 channel & 4 channel amps

Glad it was of some help :)

I was thinking you would probably need either the PC9-450 if you go the 2 channel Amp route or the PC9-451 if you fancy going for a 4 channel amp.

May be worth going for the 4 channel kit to be honest for future upgrading should you desire it :)

As for sound I really couldnt advise you to be honest but in all fairness it wont sound any worse than the current system...& with better speakers matted to a good quality amp then you should notice a big leap in clarity.
