recently my alarm decided to go off, and the key fob would not unarm the car or do anything.. it has done it a few times now so i am unable to arm the car until its sorted. alll or most of the lights on the dash come on when thios happens

also had abs and traction control lights come on... disconnecting the battery sorted this temperarily. but it has come back once or twice

also the car continues to run after i take the key out

anyone else had similar issues?? all this has happened this week!

Your profile says you drive a Peugeot 205?
Could you let us know the details of the car this fault is happening on.

sounds like the switch at the back of the ignition barrel needs looking at

depends if the running on is actual running or just running a bit and conking out

My 2005 Seat Leon FR is having the same problems with the car (randomly) continuing run after taking the key out, the dashboard warning lights flashing on (and at times staying on and needing to switch the car on again to turn off) and the alarm keeps going off.

The car has been to and from the Seat garage over the last 8 days and has had a new Ignition switch fitted and had the radio disengaged to see if this will help.

So far, still causing the problems.

Anyone who can help guide the Seat engineers on teh problem?

i have found out recently that if i put my car into reverse with the engine off, all the warning lights will stop... therefore i can alarm my car and all is well..
now i need to sort this issue out, can anyone explain why this temporarily fixes the problem.. obviously a dodgy connection somewhere i guess
