warning light on!!!!

hi all, been noticing this week coolant temp been rising above 90 every now and again.until today when it went to 120 and warning light came on!!been up and down since. Car is Cupra 180 02 plate. any help ? cheers.

checked it levels are fine at the mo. maybe dodgy temp switch?

Had same sort of problem when the aircon packed up - found that the fuse under battery cover had blown. Replaced fuse and aircon started working again and now running very cool. In fact my leon runs usually around 75 and only goes up to 90 when sitting in traffic!!

you could try a few things like..... when the temp gets hot check to see if your cooling fans are working but turn your A/C off first.... also you could do the secret climate control settings.

mine is normally always 90.But on way home today hit 120 so pulled over and it went
back to 90. sometimes a petrol smell in car when heating on too. not sure if thats linked to it?

have you got hot air when putting heater on HI ?

Yeah its normally warm/hot when temp on heating is at 23/24. which guessing it should be.

if you still got warm heating that sort of rules out your water pump. could be your fan switch or air lock.
