OK on Saturday I stripped the LCR out to start rewiring it for my install. Because I don't have all the bits at the minute I've left the car stripped out.

Now OMG that's how the LCR should be all along

The suspension doesn't crash over bumps as hard, the car rolls a bit less and it actuallyhandles pretty well! Everyone knows I think the R handles like a barge but not if you put it on a crash diet...

List of things removed...

Rear seats ( whole lot, backrests and bases )
Spare wheel
Boot carpet
Center console ( bit round gearstick etc )
Floor carpet
Floor sound proofing

You might laugh but that little lot wieghs a hell of a lot, the soundproofing alone is pretty heavy.

Took me about 1 1/2 hours to remove it all ( but I'm under the weather atm so a bit slow ) and the results are very interesting.

If anyone wants to know how to remove this lot let me know and I'll write some breif notes on how.

Oh and as an added bonus the car goes like a cat with it's tail on fire. It feels like I've got over 300bhp now :D

Actually it's not far off handling how I think it should now with the weight reduction, makes a massive difference. Presumably since the springs are too soft for the weight reducing the weight balances it out.

But it'll all be going back in, it's too noisey for my ageing ears

I've stripped it for cabling really, it already has 2 layers of sound damping on the floorpan. http://www.icecavern.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=781

I also put some soundproofing foam stuff in as well (you mention on your page that you want less noise). Seems to work really well. Better than the dynamat stuff (because it wasn't vibrating that much).

I got the links off talkaudio site. Cost about £70 per roll.
