m0rk,

No paint as yet, still more fabrication to do, new strut tower tops need to be made up to fit my eccentric top mounts. Then everything will be blasted to etch it, then primer and paint.

Turbo will be the std K04 (good for 290bhp which will be plenty in this thing).

Car is being worked on, bulkhead panel going in...yay.

Rollcage has been ordered from Tornado Motorsport (six point MSA approved track day jobby) and i've been painting yet more engine parts. Head is ready to come back but somewhere along the line one of the washers that sits under the exhaust valve spring has gone walkabout. These are unique to the APX and BAM engines for some reason, only 80p each from VAG but they are currently on back order :(

Some shiny parts

Its going to be fun when all the parts are finished and it can start coming together. The fact i've just signed a new lease on a much larger unit with a two post lift in it means this is going to be soooo much easier.

And got some bits back from the powder coaters. Don't get two confused about the ammount of 1.8T bits in the pics, i'm also rebuilding a 1.8T for a mates Octavia so there are two lots of somethings.

Then decided to remove the rear beam etc so I can strip it down and get it all blasted and powder coated. Also dropped the fuel tank so that can be cleaned and I can now clean and underseal the underneath of the car after it has been seam welded of course.

Yeah it is, pretty cheap as well.

Everything in the engine bay will be black as a racer theme, no chrome etc.
