Just thought i would go av a look at mine since i saw this thread. I,m on Bridgestones RE,s and the fronts are down to 3mm after 5k miles. Suppose if you use em there going to wear out. Going to try the Dunlop Sport Max TT,s next i think.

That's just trait of this Mk2 chassis, pushes the tyres into the road so well they wear out faster it would seem.

Don't do a great deal of mileage myself, but I've had the Vredestein's on for around 9 months and they are wearing well. But the fronts are certainly wearing much faster than the rears, might have to swap front to back soon to even it out. I reckon 10,000 miles is probably a good estimate really for most performance tyres on the Mk2.

Got a mate who has been in the tyre trade all his working life and knows a thing or two. He rates then Vredestein as good value not a "budget" also the Falken that was once a true budget tyre is now good value good quality too.

On previous Cupra R and R32 had stepping and flat spot problems with Goodyear F1s, Michelins always the best for wear but just too expensive.

I bought a set for my car recently, i only paid 130 for the pair (245/45/17)
I was under the impression that at that price they were a budget tyre, how wrong was i.
Loads of developement. A very good tyre for the money.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta Video review

just found out they don't do my size 205/45/16. sporttrac 3 for my size tyre.

used this tyre make on my old nissan primeras and leon. found them to be a great value tyre and it won awards on the auto express tyre tests.

been quoted £ 73.90 for a tyre, which is great value.

They ain't too shabby in the snow either, bit lairy but they gave some level of grip and more importantly low speed traction which can be a nightmare with wide rubber.
