Hi there, after much deliberation and tbh me taking a huge risk due to the absence of UK reviews (plenty of US ones where Vogtland brand is highly rated on MK V GTI..) I purchased a Vogtland sport suspension kit (dampers and springs not coilovers) for my 2007 Leon Cupra, my main considerations were:

  • Improved handling
  • Improved ride over stock setup
  • Improved looks via lowering
  • [Value for money - I wanted to spend less than £500
  • Good build quality (kit has 2 year warranty and is TUV approved)

The kit was fitted by Tyrespot of Newcastle (Scotswood road branch) who were both very knowledgeable and professional in their approach as well as good value. On seeing the car for the first time I was surprised at the drop (Vogtland quote 35mm) I was advised that this is likely to be only 25mm on a Cupra as lower than standard Leon, however I think I got the full 35mm drop it looks fantastic!

Noting how low it looked its fair to say I was worried big time about the ride quality...I can honestly say it is perfect and a massive improvement over the crashy and overfirm stock setup which in my opinion is very poor. At low speeds it's less crashy than stock, above 40mph it is smooth and firm like a well sorted Beemer or Merc with almost zero body roll and very predictable handling....perfect:D

In summary the kit feels and handles like the Koni sport kit I had on my Mk4 Ibiza, which isn't surprising as rumour has it that Vogtland used to make Koni springs and Koni make Vogtland dampers!!

All I can say is grab yourself a bargain because I don't think you can do better for £350 delivered (thank you www.dpmperformance.co.uk for bargain price and free advice), highly recommended!
