Been Away for 2 days on business. I had my car left in the staff car park in Dublin airport. I arrived back to my car (which i only own 2 weeks tomorrow) to find the front passenger window smashed in and the radio etc etc gone. Im sure its happened to many many people out there but it's so frustrating. Only got the radio last week. It took about 2 hours just to clean up all the glass. I think I will have to strip the door down tomorrow to clean out the glass inside, or will the guy fitting the new window do that??

Autoglass here I come...
This is one mod I hadn't budgeted for.

Aye some sh:censored:head popped the window in mine while I was doing some Christmas shopping in Chester last year and made off with the stereo (not before making a hell of a mess of the dashboard). Quite what they wanted with a non-DIN size standard Seat radio cassette I'll never know, but at least the insurers replaced it with a nice JVC CD/MP3 head unit.

But aye, it's a sick-to-the-pit-of-the-stomach feeling.

I will never undertand the scum that do this, why would you bother risking the noise of smashing a window + alarm etc just to nick a car radio, seems madness. I thought all this crap stopped in the early 90's, i mean the things arent megabucks, im bewildered as to why people bother.

If they smash the glass the film stops it from shattering, also why would they try breaking in if they cant see what their stealing :) Tints are a very good security feature.
Is your car black ?

Really sorry to hear your cars been broken into. Its just not on when they do this! I don't understand car crime in this country. When I lived in developing countries in Asia where there is so much poverty around people including me left cars UNLOCKED many times and nothing got stolen!

We had our car taken by joyriders from Coleraine Hospital :) and found by police dumped in Belfast!

Just had mine tinted:) The film should prevent the glass from shattering, minimises uv rays, no need for sunshades (that fall off anyway) and doesn't look too bad either:D
