Hi

I have a 03 LC 180, and am fixing problems myself when they pop up now and then (coil packs, temp censors ect) and thanks to the great members of this site who have really helped me learn and get to know my car.:)

As i do love my LC so much i have decided to hang on to it until something major goes wrong as touch wood my car has been sound. Thing is every time i have the engine management light come on i need to get down to my local garage for them to lookup the fault code so i can fix the problem and then get them to reset it. This was not a problem as it was a mate who worked there and use to do it for me for free but now he has moved on so don't think i can still get this perk ;)

So was looking at buying the VAG diagnostic cable and software so i can lookup and reset when needed but wanted to check with you all first for any recommendations?

Done a quick search and found a few but also wanted to check which one i need? (Guessing this is so cheap as its just the cable right?)

Would one like this work?

Thanks for your time and help :3rd:

Another option if you want to just want to read codes cheaply and reset codes is the torque app for your mobile and a bluetooth ODBII dongle. Less than £20 for the both.

I got a hand held device off eBay, it's orange with 2 buttons on, was £12.50 and it's great
