FREEWARE VAGCOM DOESNT CLEAR FAULTS!!!

RUBBISH!! :p

Strictly speaking no lead at all (official, unofficial, black box etc) will clear a fault. Only fixing the problem will clear the fault. I should also point out that there isn't a 'freeware' version of VAGCOM, it's shareware...

Anyway, nit-picking aside, the shareware version of VAGCOM can clear fault CODES, exactly the same as that hand held unit can.

Mine doesn't and I have the full version but I use a different lead. When I try to clear the fault it says it needs the professional interface. However I can do everything else.

How very odd. The lead shouldn't make any difference, I've tried three different leads now and they all work fine with the shareware version.

Make sure you turn the ignition on when pluged in. Also when it's searching don't press anything until the search has finished. One last thing the AT won't work as we don't have a automatic transmission.
