Hi I am about 50 miles from home and my other half needs to pick up my car from the train station. Now as I drove it there I have the main key leaving her with the spare one which has no key fob

Could someone tell me (or check the manual - mine is in the car!!!) how to turn the alarm etc off with the spare key?

I have read that you need to turn the ignition within 10-15 secs, but then sometimes get posts with conflicting info (press buttons etc)

Need to know asap really so thanks in advance for any help some one may beable to give!!

Switch ignition on within 10 seconds IIRC.

Not read anything about having to press any buttons just switch the ignition on.

As far as I know thats how you do it.
Unlock manually, jump in quick and turn on ignition to disable alarm etc.

Nice one, I thought there was a fault on my car cause the alarm kept going off when we used the spare key! :)

I think the short amount of time given to turn the ignition on is a condition of the Thatcham CAT1 rating - it gives the chavs as little time as possible to bugger about in the car before the alarm goes off!
