I ordered the shiny me black one. Should be here tomorrow, just need to find out where to put the axle stands so I don't brake the car.

There was a thread about this recently.

I usually put the jack under the big subframe bolt and the axle stands, padded with corrugated cardboard, on the box-section rails.

id rather pay that than have to drive it to a garage and leave it to them and risk doing £££'s of damage on the way, luckily i managed to get a lift to and from work today so if the weather holds out ill try and get it sorted tomorrow.

As always I'm faced with another problem.
The jack won't lift the car enough to get the axle stands even on their first position

So it's off to halfords to buy a jack

Bad: big bolt left in the middle hole

Good: the other hole was bolt free

Nicely done fella :)

IIRC they all look on the piss so don't worry too much lol - if the new dogbone mount lined up as expected then it'll be straight.

That rubbing on the driveshaft was probably done when the mount was loose, the engine would be rotating which also pulls the driveshafts towards the front of the car and rubbed on the arb.

The thread is ok but the bit that snapped off is mangled where I had to drill about half a cm then wack a screwdriver in it to twist it out, this was more effort than it should have been, as the cordless drill went flat and the plug in drill was only tightened by hand as the chuck key is missing.

Anyway

OMG u can feel the difference. The whole car feels solid when you put the power on and you can feel it put so much more power down through the wheels, I even did a quick pull away from the lights and got some wheel spin instead of kangaroos, it used to suffer from terrible wheel hop any time I pulled away fast.

The bushes should be one of the first things on anyone's mod list.

yup mines on the piss too, tilting your head -10 degrees helps but makes the rest of the car lean to the right, its a lose lose situation!
