running with maf disconnected will run assuming assumed rather than measured airflow readings, as such will run slightly safer settings, such as a little rich and probably slightly down on power.
if when you connect the maf if may be that it runs higher boost now thats its actually gettting some data..
or its highlighting an issue such as a boost leak.
What DV you running?

I had a pipe replaced last year under the manifold that was picked up after the EML coming on and getting a fault code, just not sure what pipe it was.

I'll check it out and see, but I'm certain it was that pipe that was replaced because they are prone to splitting as far as I know.

I've got a Forge 007p running a yellow spring. I've also had it installed both ways around because some people say it works better the wrong way around!? it certainly makes more noise the wrong way round, but I don't notice any difference in power.

Limp mode is happening before the turbo is even being used. I can pull out from the house, and by the time I'm off the estate (not used more than 1500 revs), I'll go to put my foot down and nothing. Completely flat. So I'm really really really at a loss. It does sound like a split pipe more than anything else I guess. Either that, or just a **** map!

Ah right i see buddy, i never had the EML with my split pipe, just limpmode and 17705 code. But yh it could be the map i guess,i had mine mapped with revo stage 1 at performace direct in bristol and touch wood, apart from the usual coilpack failures it's been fine and drives like a different car when at full throttle.

you are, you just dont realise it.
rich running, less mpg, less power...

I changed it the other day, completely changed my car, it was running great but now it's even better and definitely noticed the mpg increase on my on board comp and pulling a lot better in every gear

Think I had the same problem. Didn't notice that the MAF was ****ed, but now I've got the new one on (when not in Limp Mode), it drives a lot better... much smoother.

Before I go spending any more money, I just want to know a couple of things I can quickly check myself. If I can't find anything, I'll just return it back to standard and see what happens. Thanks for all the help and advice so far guys! v:)
