Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice and feedback on a situation with my Cupra Leon eHybrid 245hp. About 2 weeks ago, I received a warning: “e-Drive is not working correctly, please visit service.” (Photo attached.)I took the car to the official Cupra service center, where they performed diagnostics and found a faulty coolant temperature sensor 1 (internal code 2070044/6). They explained that fixing it requires a lot of work because the high-voltage battery must be removed to access the sensor. The total repair cost is approximately 3000€, which seems very high for a sensor replacement. My Questions:

- Has anyone encountered this issue before? I’m curious to know if this is a common fault or if there’s a pattern with this sensor failing.
- What happens if I don’t repair it? The service center said there are no immediate limitations if I keep driving with the error. However, I’m concerned if this could cause long-term issues for the battery or drivetrain.
- Is this sensor only related to the high-voltage battery? I have insurance from the car dealer, but they refused to cover the repair, saying it’s a battery-related issue. Is this correct, or does the sensor impact other systems as well?
