Upgrading the fmic....

I don't know too much about what to look for though. I don't really wanna part with the money for the forge one so been looking for a decent aftermarket fmic on ebay. there are a few but unsure what to look for?

Which size and core size is best etc? Total amateur at this sort of thing.

i understand where your coming from as i am currently researching intercoolers and just cant bring my self to pay £600+.....
i mot'd a iveco daily 2.8 turbo diesel the other day i noticed it had a very generous size intercooler on it made of allumunium too...
so,i will give it a try and for what its gonna cost me i'd be daft not to

but knowing my look it will most likely fail

its just the fact the coolers designed to cool the charge and flow enough air for a great big 2.8 litre turbo diesel 3 ton van...so surely it will help

I have just finished fittingmy Forge I/C to replace my APR one.....just wanted a bigger I/c and this came up on Ebay at the right price......have fitted it and modded the Crashbar myself all in all cost me under £300!! and works brilliantly, need to do some logs to check the AIT's etc.
I now have an APR FMIC for sale, retails at about £700+vat... I will post pics of it and put an ad in the classified along with Vag Com Logs to prove it works....guaranteed. This includes most of the piping, ( you will need a 90 Degree Elbow and a 135 degree silicone bend , brackets to fit an Octy VRS, you will have to take a small half teardrop shape cutout out of the crashbar...very simple mod. This was fitted to a leon 20v prior to my octy. I will print fitting instructions Anyone interested please PM me. ....not looking for anywhere near the retail BTW...best offer secures or I e-bay it!

What difference does the intercoller make when getting the cupra mapped? I'm getting the forge IC fitted in the next week or so all being well and just wondering what difference it actually makes? I know the standard cooler is poor.

much cooler intake temperatures,

colder the better, no heatsoak so no loss in performance

Makes the air cooler, therefore more dense, meaning more oxygen, meaning better combustion!
