im looking to get a universal induction kit from the likes of jetex or green as induction kits made specific are a rip off imo. has anyone actually fitted a universal kit to there 1.8T and were there any problems? i know the maf is sensitive, but i can't be spending £100+ when you can pick up universal cones off jetex, for example, for as little as £30. any thoughts?

you can also buy Green ones for same kinda money.
70mm neck size and bung it on for el-cheapo install.

support it a bit tho to stop it flappin.. maf wont like that

heat shield it too to avoid hot air being drawn in..

You mean hot air?

I have some shabby universal stainless steel thing fitted to mine atm, no heat shield, it can't be doing much good in the heat wave we're having. I'm reverting back to an air box with green panel and modifying it.

for the modified are you just smoothing out the insides and making the feed pipe bigger? where is the best place to fit the bigger inlet pipe, in the front (underneith/ beside the intercooler or in the origional position?

Bill, would you say the standard airbox is restrictive in anyway?
