Thanks Rob, those furry intake valves you spoke to me about are a worry. A damaged intercooler has been mentioned as well.

I have decide to go see the VAG master tech at REVO so he can have a good once over and hopefully put his finger on the problem

Going by your logs, there is no evidence of boost drop/loss which is what you would see with a damaged intercooler. I would be more concerned that the requested boost is not what Revo say it should be.

If Revo say this should be pulling 1.4 Bar of boost, note that the requested boost is only 1.2 Bar which is being met.

What happens when you run the car with the MAF connected?

Log above is with MAF connected. I havent posted the one with MAF disconnected as it is very similar to my 'untrained' eye

Requested is 1.2 and actual is 1.2 with MAF disconned

Monster may have tinkered with the setting to stop it running in det before it is looked at, but I'm no expert on these matters.
That's probably why the B/T/F settings are a little strange

MAF Disconned log;

Heres my log on standard car , as you can see my timing pull is errmmmm massive and SEAT say its ok ffs !

just out of interest what should standard boost be?

What fuel are you using to get this timing pull? Boost looks like what standard should be.

For the Invisible's car, It looks like its working fine. If revo says it should be requesting 1.4bar, it has got to have a wrong map in it. For example the boost settings cant even affect that much?

What fuel are you using to get this timing pull? Boost looks like what standard should be.

For the Invisible's car, It looks like its working fine. If revo says it should be requesting 1.4bar, it has got to have a wrong map in it. For example the boost settings cant even affect that much?

hi mate i only run v power , thats what i dont get , SEAT say my timing pull is normal wtf? :censored:

Problem Identified

Went to visit Ben (Master VAG Tech) and Carl at REVO yesterday for investigation work to establish why my car was running badly and not boosting to say the least and why Monster couldn't set the REVo setting correctly without it running in det.

Firstly, great service, Ben is a fountain of knowldge and defo lives up to his title!

In summary problem identified as fried coil pack. Ben replaced for me, road tested and set REVO up correctly (B7, T5, F9). Now pulls much stronger and runs well.

However, bigger problems ahead. The coil pack fried 'cause oil has been leaking into the spark plugs holes.

Ben suspects this is from a leaking gasket on the cam shaft bearing carrier and will need sorting otherwise it will start to run like a bag of sand again and fry another set.

Ben was happy to do the work for me but suggested to save me cash since the car is under warranty I persue with SEAT. He did say I may have to be forceful with them to get the work done as they will say 'no warranty claim as modded'

However, Ben believes they can not refuse to do the work as the fault is not as a direct result of the modifications done.

I'll update on how I get on

hi Dave yep agree with you Ben is a top bloke gave me loads of time and plenty of knowledge ,
dont know why seat make it a secret society? i learnt more from Ben in an hour bout my car than 2 years of speaking to seat so called experts.

looks good that you getting things sorted.

would be good to see any pics of this as you know i have similar problems maybe this is a common fault?

not sure how oil gets into the spark plug holes?
i am on my 3rd set of plugs in around 15,000 miles , the threads of my plugs are covered in oil and the general state of them is black evn the latest set which has done about 5k.

its had the uprated ngk plugs installed they lasted about 8k , each time just had new plugs fitted so obviously more to mine than they want to let on about !

was your actual spark plug hole filled with oil? or was it just a witnes like mine around threads , is your using oil? mines burnt half my dipstick in 5,000 miles

yup 2nd that , might be a good idea at least to take the itg off and put standard cover back on , from my experience nothing will happen with out a fault code and they wont take a 3rd parties word for anything , unless you can prove things to them , remember my door problem? that took 5 months before they accepted liabiity and they could see the damage missing parts with out removing anything , dont get me wrong im on ur side dave totally but i know what a bunch of fobbing off robbing gits they are

yep no fault code, no action.

Even pages and pages of vag com fault codes taken over a period of 12 months wont kick stealers into action

I don't think they were black (or white), I'll need to check with Ben but if they are the same as when I replaced my plugs just oil residue on some of the plugs.

Ben also advised me that use TFSI owners shouldn't get sucked in by the sales patter on the NGK plugs. Basically becuase of the way the engine is design buying so called 'colder' plugs makes no difference. These plugs only really benefit older engines. Ben recommends next time going with OEM plugs rather than spending extra on the NGK Iridium plugs.

I've started with an e-mail to SEAT to test the water.

Irrespective of logs and evidence surely just spending 5 minutes taking the plugs out and seeing the oil deposits would be enough to convince them of a leak.

I'll happily take pictures of my old coil pack but probably won't be clear enough on pictures. Just deposits on the end and the outer cases slightly tarnished

Quite an interesting read there. Sounds like the revo master tech certainly knows his stuff!

Best of luck with your dealer and keep us posted fella.

possible weakness in the engine and not mod related seeing as iirc invisble hasnt been stage 1 for that long, and 300hp isnt exactly pushing the envelope either
