Hi can anyone tell me the tire pressure front and back for standard tyres on a cupra r mk1 225/40zr18.
Thanks
Thanks
i run my rears at 34psi
fronts at 33psi
or on occasion 1psi higher
what is the standard pressure u shud have?
why more pressure at rear? Its lighter there.... makes sense to have less pressure rear and more infront where all the weight is..... yes?
I have 235/40`s and run 45psi front 40psi rear...
shake and bake
Is this on standard LCR wheels, bit wide and way too high a pressure on the fronts!
Lack of grip?
1. yes on stock LCR rims. Just had them refurbished in antracite matt and they are pimp! The 235/40 BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW fits really well on the rims. Will post some pics soon.
2. psi after "expert" advice from the shop that performed the refurbishment fitting. Told me since they are wider they need higher pressure. Makes sense. Max pressure is 50psi on those.... But I inspect them pretty frequent so I can tell if its wrong.
Grip is s-i-c-k. I can stand on the brakes from 60mph and the abs hardly interfers, unlike the P-Zero Rosso... different word.

No way 10 PSI more, that would be crazy and probably dangerous, 1or 2 psi tops. Actually thinking about it I would have thought it should be the other way round and lower PSI for wider tyres the same as it is for bikes.

check inside your fuel flap it tell you there , think its 35
Absolutely!!! Way too high for road use.
I go either 34 all round or 32

I'd definately invest in a decent pressure guage if I were you! El cheapo guages & poorly maintained garage guages can be as much as 10psi out... running so close to the max design pressure of the tyre, you're asking for trouble![]()
Besides, as I understand it, if you run lower profile tyres then you should use slightly higher pressure... but wider tyres on stock profile actually gives you a taller sidewall - no way you should be running 45psi!![]()
On the fuel cap mine recommends 33psi all round but i have them all at 32psi as im usually the only one in the car and the picture on the flap is 3 people up. The higher you go the more it rattles and harder it gets. 45 sounds a slightly excessive figure are you not going bald in the centres quicker?
