Do all cupra turbo's make a whistling sound when spooling? Mine sounds nice but not sure if its normal or not?

I can only hear it with the windows down but its not like a siren sound so fairly quiet if that explains it.

Mines must be standard also then as it sound similar to yours, it has no other mods. I have just come from an st170 but before that i drove a mondeo st220 V6 which was quick but ive had a 2 month gap between then so it may feel quicker as the st was sh*t on power considering it was supposed to be 170bhp hence why i sold it on!!

You got any future plans for you LC fella?

The V6's were very late in delivering the power from fords ST series, hence why they feel slow, also you wont be used to the turbo lag, so this may make the car feel faster when the windmill spools and kicks in. This is my first Turbo car and before this i had a Peugeot 306 GTi6 which ran at roughly 175bhp. To me the 306 felt fast as it was instant power and the car was ALOT lighter but top end the Cupra is second to none!

Yes your right, the st needed to revved to get it going which i couldnt put up with. This is actually my second turbo car, i owned an Mk4 astra gsi turbo in arden blue, cracking car with plenty of power but felt twitchy in the bends where as the leon feels more stable but still a little light on the steering but overall im very impressed and would say its not that far off the gsi but i think a remap for the cupra to 207bhp is in the near future.:)

Mine was quiet but you could still just about hear it as standard. Just fitted Jetex cone filter on the weekend and now its pretty loud, both turbo and dump valve.

I had a cold air induction kit fitted so the cone is low down near the front bumper this makes the 'sucking' noise really loud especially on colder days, changing gears is also fun when you make people jump on the pavement :)
