Ive spent the whole evening stripping my car.

Full inlet system is off, the whole of the SMIC etc all being cleaned up.

I am replacing the turbo and looking potencially to do it myself or most of the work.

I need to know what is involved if someone can enlighten me that would be excellent.

I hope its just a matter of bolt off and bolt on but i have no idea.

Any specific tools needed? or is it a garage job?

Its a PD130 ibiza FR.

Thanks.

Turbo removed.

After all of the inlet system is removed.

Loosen the 8 12mm nuts which attatch the manifold to the engine.

Undo the big NUT which is on top of the turbo that feeds oil i guess.

Undo the 3 bolts which attatch to the exhaust

Undo the big NUT which is on the bottom of the turbo that feeds oil.

Then undo the nut which is found next to the exhaust which bolts the turbo to the car.

Once all of these bolts have been removed with a bit of thinking the turbo should come up from the top of the engine.

Easyish job, just need a range of spanners and torque wrenches, different lengths as some of the threads are quite long.

Sorry mate i can't help you with the torque pressures. I do know that there is a few gaskets ect ect that you should replace when changing the turbo.
