I have a Cupra 4 with the PD 150.
Yesterday I noticed a funny noise coming from the right-hand side of the engine bay (UK driver side).
It sounds like a whooshing noise but not the same as when the pressure pipe from the air intake blew off last year.

Today it started billowing smoke under acceleration (and that's not the diesel cloud)..
It doesn't seem to be down on power at all which makes me think turbo rather than boost leak.

Had a look underneath at the dealer's yesterday and everything seemed fine. No noises or leaks when sat in neutral and no errors came up on the computer (apart from a CTS one but i know about that)

Cheers.

Black.

I think it could be a leak between the turbo and the intercooler

yes it probably is. Mine billowed black smoke when the boost pipe came off. Now its back on but it still leaks very slightly and I get black smoke when flooring it.

fromj what I understand...

black smoke = can be boost pipes leaking (excess unburned fuel is being blown out of the exhaust)
blue smoke = turbo failure/piston rings/valve guides (the engine’s own lubricating oil is being burned)
lots of white smoke = possible headgasket (atomized but not burned. water in fumes)

It's just that the wooshing sound sounds different to when the boost pipe from the air filter blew off.
But then it would, wouldn't it? ;)

Either way, it's being looked at properly at another garage on Thursday so we'll go from there
