turbo cooling after engine off?

should the 2001 leon cupra have the electronic water pump which runs for a few mins after youve turned off the engine or not?

my ibiza had it, but ive not noticed it on the leon?

Have a look mate, it should be bolted next to the rad on the left side.

I don't think so. My car doesn't make any kind of noise after turning ignition off.

Also a very popular mod in the US and for TT's/S3's here are turbo timers which keep the engine running after removing the key for an automatically determined time.

I have heard though that the 180 and 210 engines do not have this feature, but the 225 engines do - take that with a pinch of salt, though.

yes i think the LCRs have it. my 2002 ibiza cupra (1.8t) had it also.

im just wondering if the earlier leon cupras (such as mine) were released before this system was added, because my car doesnt do it!

I used to have a LCR210 and yes it had one. Now got a 51reg Cupra and no noise at all.

My LCR 225 has this also, my LC 180 however didn't, this was on 03 model so maybe all LC's don't not just earlier ones?....

On my Leon FRi didn;t notice this but i did have a rather smart Turbo Timer from the Clifford Alarm!

On my LCR, i do notice the engine cooling after the switch off- like a low humming noise.
I do leave it running for about 2-3 mins anyway

My 02 210LCR has a little can size cylinder that just sits behind the rad and this makes a humming noise, so i presume this is what pumps the water/oil around the turbo.
