Turbo @ 41k

i have the 2.0 diesel 140bhp 07 reg, turbo started to make a wining noise last thursday on my way back home obviously alarm bells started ringing.
Gradually it got worse, it started by making a little noise above 2.5k rpm then got worse to a wine all the time.
On way to seat on friday and could clearly see white smoke coming from the exhausts when setting off! this confirmed to me it was the turbo.
booked the car in to be seen this morning, turns out my suspicions were correct and the turbo has gone, i reported it to seat 11 days after my warranty had expired. the garage have told me that seat will provide a replacement turbo but because the warranty has expired i will have to pay the labour on the job, what a ball ache!

how unlucky is that if only it had gone 11 days earlyier lol

why's it gone so early on 41k on clock thats really low isnt it mines at 43k scared !

Dont know why it has gone. i dont drive it hard, try and get the best mpg with the occational clear through on the motorway, going to ask this when i pick the car back up tomorrow.
i get a 2 year warranty on the turbo they are fitting. touch wood it was just a dodgy turbo fitted to mine

Well mines had 3 turbos in 26,000 haha.

...and on the last one which was done under warranty seat left the oil feed line loose enough to reduce the flow to the impellor, which shattered and blew the housing apart!

got the car back at midday today, the car feels good, i have noticed that before the new turbo was fitted, it kind of made a siren noise like you had an ambulance/police following you (not very loud had to turn music/fans off so you could hear it), now that noise has totally gone. think it was on its way out along time ago just thought it was normal for it to make the noise it did. even my dad who has been a mechanic all his life says its strange as some turbo's make this noise.
