I was curious about this system too. The best info I've found is this video

I decided against activating it, figuring that the satnav probably does a better job, at least with fixed speed limits. I can imagine that it would also contradict the nav displayed speed limit if the two systems don't talk to one another, and it could probably miss things in bad weather too. That said, it might integrate properly with the nav system and override the displayed speed limits.

Hi all

I had a go enabling this. Works well, but a couple of minutes into the journey the instrument display pops up with:

Traffic sign recognition: restricted.

The sat nav talks to the traffic sign recognition as NinjaPirate said, and this error apparently means the two aren't communicating as they should. For reference, here's some discussion on a Skoda forum on the same topic:

briskoda.net/forums/topic/299493-how-to-enable-traffic-sign-recognition

They've yet to come up with a solution so far. On this basis I wouldn't recommend enabling the sign recognition, as the error is a bit annoying.

N.B. I believe this function does require the Lane Assist camera. If you haven't got that then there's definitely no point in enabling it.

I had this working but found the same as moomoomoo the error message at startup I could probably live live but when you went to car status on the main display it shown up in there with an illustration as your car with a bright orange dashboard so I took it off.

It worked fairly well probably 75% accurate at detecting the signs. For info it moves the compass down on the central display and show the sign icons in its place.

You need the lane departure camera.

Hi, it's genuine running 12.12.0 software. It also works on my next door neighbours Ovtavia VRS.
