Afternoon all! I have looked all around the front of the car looking for a clip in the front bumper to try and find where the tow rope can be attached, but i cannot find it! Does the mk2 cupra actually have one?! If so, where on earth is it? Well not on earth, on the car, but you all know what i mean lol

i'm sure i read it somewhere(so it must be true).Unless it's down to what sort of rope used?!?!?

after a quick google, lots of people saying it is illegal. But as usual nothing in the highway code i can find.
But theose that are saying it are saying the same/similar to me,it has to be a bar/pole/rigid rope.
but this fella had me in sticthes:
you are legally required to have a piece of paper attached to the rear of the towed vehicle, with 'On Tow' scrawled on it in biro. It has to be paper in case it rains and then it will go soggy and (even more) illegible. If you can manage to mis-spell 'On Tow' so much the better.

The tow rope should be no more than three feet (approx. one metre) in length and should be no less than twenty years old. Some sort of rag must be tied somewhere along the length of the rope for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Your journey should include at least one fifteen mile section of motorway or dual carriageway where you can drive along quite happily at 22mph with your hazard lights flashing.

This is the law. It must be, I've seen it loads of times

the last time i did a tow a couple of years back, i remember my old man cursing and swearing at me because i never kept the rope tight.

i think the idea behind having a straight, metal bar is a good one though. far safer, and no need to press the brakes in the car being towed

I don't know if the law's changed in the last 5 years, but it used to depend what road you were on. Obviously you can't tow someone with rope on a motorway, not sure about duel carriageways, but i think you can tow with rope on A, B and minor roads.
