Hi all,
Has anyone had issues around coding of vehicle specific towbar wiring on a 2024 V2 Formentor. I'm looking at an aftermarket towbar and electrics and certain VIN numbers are advised not to code the electrics. Any help greatly appreciated.

If the car has SFD2, you’re out of luck

If it doesn’t, you’re all good

Either way, you’re risking warranty headaches.

Even if you go for a third party towbar, use a genuine wiring kit & control module. That way it can be registered against the car’s build data and it won’t draw attention to the installation or cause headaches if it goes in for any software updates/control module replacements

According to my information, this problem has already been solved with SFD 2 and retrofitting a tow bar. OEM authorized workshops can retrofit these. I cannot say whether this is valid globally.

Seems you're good to go with genuine even if it's SFD2, it's just Skoda that are slacking with the Mk2 Kodiaq 😂 (we've currently got a huge waiting list for towbars on them). We haven't had much interest in towbars for the Formentor as of yet
