The drop down from the plate gives just enough clearance so that it pops through the lower opening without having much effect on the positioning of the bumper when being towed with.
But having seen the bolt in version I may look into one of them for when mine needs replacing..im that low that it scrapes on the floor and tucks under my LCR splitter
