are torquing bhp not Revo dealers as well? either way they have a great sales tactic

they used to be - but like many used it as a tool to get punters in - then sell their own stuff (rica + unknown)

Well you know what I mean..LOL more boost = more torque but there is a limit!

I've seem maps for 150pd running 1.9bar of boost for a stock turbo and I've also seen maps requesting 0.3bar at idle...

Was that me or you with the 0.3 bar at idle. Remember your mates Passat 130? IIRC that was a similar problem?

Quote..."Our standard remap produces more power and torque than the REVO version and if you wish to carry out further modifications we can even take the power up to 210bhp on the standard turbo and injectors but if these are replaced 230-240bhp is possible."

I went to 220 on the stock turbo but as I have a mechanical sympathy with my car it didnt stay like that. Now runs very strongly at 187 bhp (real world figure btw) and is probably as quick on the road as when it was balls out at 220bhp

If these people are not Revo dealers due to the actions stated above then Revo should be a bit quicker removing them from their website dealer pages? Mork...are you sure on this one?

edc 15 has a very simple way of telling you its not stock. Cant say any more as dealer techs read these sites and we dont want to give the game away.
edc 16 do indeed have a flash counter but its pretty worthless as no record is kept at VAG of the amount of flashes the cars have already undertaken (different for BMW tho so watch out for that one with your motor). I have already seen brand new VAG cars with 2 and 3 flash counts before I add to this?!?!

Cheers for the heads up rich, had heard rumours, in talks with mike @ DMS as their obd reflash for my EDC16 ecu is ready soon, They have had the map ages, i just dont wont the flash to pads(open ecu time), they must have bought the software to beat the odb flash encryption :)

on vag 2/3 flash counts maybe they have been testing the 240 software rumour for the GTI LIGHTWIEGHT

BMW have less security in the EDC16 than VAG. However the dealer warranty routines are more stringent and the techs are forced to look for dicky software before replaceing parts.

The 2/3 flash count cars have always been diesels so not sure why really. The golf gti MED9 has already has some recalls early on so not uncommon to see these with a 1/2 flash count.
We are aiming at the new year for OBD flash on the BMW diesels (MB as well at the same time)

Cheers rich, it was a £37K(list) car, so dont wanna invalidate my warranty  if prop goes ping etc.

Yeah MED9 on golf gti  loads of fuel faults on early reflash's, jim@star had this with his, all sorted now though

Yeah, and when I rang Revo HQ earlier, it went onto answer machine - the message was apparently recorded by some bloke called Richard

Sounded like a decent bloke though

Torquing BHP still are REVO dealers.

But as some have said, Darryl is just a guy 'Torquing BHP' have no offices, i have no idea where his claimed 20 years experience comes from. The site in cambridge he mentions is actually an independant garage in Harston, that he uses as a base. The guy that runs the garage is a top bloke and is a very good mechanic but, like i said, having been to the garage a couple of times and also spoken to Darryl regarding remaps i have no idea where he got all this claimed remapping experience. He defo hasn't got the R & D of REVO or the facilities of Jabba, so i know where i'd trust my car.

Not a joke no, definitely "Richard".

F*ckwit butting in here but can somone explain to me when they (remap producers) say "the map is switchable back to the origional", is this actually the case?

What I mean is, is the map the actual origional or, is it another map that gives the same performance as the origional but is actually thier version of it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question - but you gotta learn

The original as in a copy of the original... ;)
Before remapping you usually make a copy of the code on the ECU, then using this as a basis make changes (fueling, boost, accelerator, toruqe limiters, etc..) and reflash it back (after checking checksums).

Spoke to Kev today and apparently one of the Revo guys is now using my old mobile and does not know the pin number to change the message. If the land line was diverted to him then this explains why you heard me on the other end (if only I had left a message indicating my new mobile number I could have stolen all of Revo's work ;) )

I obviously cannot answer any questions about the stock code on switchable tuning whoevers it may be. Does it really matter anyway if it is anything other than total stock? After all the oem dealers have no idea what to look for! As long as it drives and feels stock then surely that is good enough for peace of mind on warranty issues.
My own car is less than 12 months old, it has wrong brakes, modified intake pipes, did have nitrous, chipped, etc and has been serviced twice already without a word from the dealer. They even asked if I could leave the chip in when I trade it in :D
