"Too Hot" Message from my stereo??

I've got an 05 Ibiza FR with the standard mp3 stereo in the car.

I did a long drive yesterday and after about 2.5 hours of constant listening to an mp3 cd the player muted and a "too hot" message appeared on the screen.

I ejected the cd, and my car was right - the cd was pretty much too hot to hold! Once the cd was ejected the radio kicked in an worked fine.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a fault with the cd or with the player?

Did you have it on random? Chances are it just got a bit aggravated finding the next track to play?

Nope not on random - it stopped dead half way through a song, no skips or jumping or anything beforehand.

yer seen it before on a hot day or heating on as well after running audio for ages turn it off and leave it for 5 min
