For my FR+ I got the water pump off eBay for £23 delivered - no surcharge for an exchange unit.

I got my cambelt kit with tensioners etc for £83 inc vat from The Parts Specialist (TPS) in Teesside.

Also, auxillary belt - £15 from a local motor factor.

SEAT and other technicians recommend that you change waterpump and auxillary belt when you do the cambelt as removing the old one can unsettle the waterpump etc and cause problems a couple of thousand miles down the road. For the sake of a few quid it is worth doing.

thanks,i heard that seat revised the plastic impeller as they were quite(shiiiaiiit) yes tried phoneing dave 2day discovered he was off work... well no worries my 4 years change date is due so im syre a few more days wont hurt.. thanks for the help guys...hope he gets better soon.no doubt he'll be busy to flooding orders when he get's back from his fall;as to that ive seen cross drilled discs as a set of 4 on a sale site for 144.75 for the 4 discs and ferodo pad ssize 288x25. sounds cheap!!

My 2006 55 Plate FR+ has just had it's 4th Birthday and it's sitting at around 45K Miles. I'm going to get it done in the next month or so, at my local Bosch Service Centre. I have been quoted £326 for a cambelt kit fitted, and £110 more for the water pump fitted. I got my Ibiza 130 TDI done there a couple of years back and it was a similar price. Are these reasonable prices?

sounds steep to me mate i been quoted 371.71 buy a local dealer for belt pump tensioners all in inc vat.mines got 49000 on clock but it wont be let to go much longer b4 i change it but this time ill do the work myself and save a few bob
