Time for some new tyres... but which ones?

Run continental contact sport 5's on my k1. Very good tyres! Will be going for michelin supersports once they wear out though

Good Year Eagle F1s are very good, as are the Conti Sport 5s, the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 is available at a very good price recently, but on a previous car and from other reviews that I have read, the common issue with them is that they dont last very long.

I previously had a set of Firestone SZ90s and have just got another set, I think for the money, they are excellent, with very good wear and grip in the wet and dry.

Just fit my 235/35/19's goodyears and as ever really happy with them. Brilliant tyre.

Just upgraded from Pirelli P Zero Rosso's to Continental Sport Contact 5's and I'm extremely impressed. I'll never go Pirelli again.

I bought some UniRoyal Rainsport 3 tyres. A set of 4.
So far they seem okay, in the dry they're okay, but in the wet they are unreal. They just won't give out!

Dunno how long they're supposed to last so that'll be an experiment.

Rainsport 3s are a great tyre but you wont get much wear out of them, my Wife had them on her Astra (nothing special) and she got about 8k out of them, which was not much at all.

I have put a new set of continental contisport 5's on the car

I am so impressed with the grip! No wheel spinning even with so much torque! The car handles like its on rails. I have Remapped cr170 lowered on HNR 40mm springs with these tyres and I kid you not it corners precisely with no loss of power or grip whatsoever. A lot more confidence in the corners, roundabouts, bends, twisty roads

Well impressed and defo recommended by me

I've just had these fitted 225/40/18 88 Y @ £114 a corner fitted



Transformed the handling, but then they would compared to the ditch finders they replaced.expensive really considering the F1 would have been £80-£90 a corner fitted .

Good year F1 where excellent on my old 130i but no comparison being RWD

Same goes for uniroyalrainsport 3's I had fitted to my R36 AWD, no sure I agree with them being soft and not lasting , they where good in the wet .

Super sports seem to be the flavor at the mo, so thought I'd see what all the fuss is about ......qui trackday at the end of the month

Not been out in the wet yet

Just drove to work in the wet damp greasy roads
Stil able to out the power down
Very progressive and predictable and even in the wet could get the car up to speed again quickly without having to worry about lighting up the wheels

+1 on rainsport 3 having amazing grip but only lasted 6k on my altea. I'm now using falken ziex 914 2k miles so far and can't fault them .

I am well impressed with the Rainsport 3's... I've now got them on all 4 wheels. Unreal grip! I can't say how they are for wear yet though, but I will when they're worn!

Update - The back are still like new, literally; they still have the coloured lines through them!

The fronts are totally gone though!! Bald after 10k.

Won't be getting Rainsport 3's again! Currently deciding which to go with next!

When I bought mine It had Dunlop Sportmax RT/TTs on. They were good but reviews suggest they don't last long so when I changed I put 4 Avon ZZ5s on. These wear very well (20k on the fronts) but are a little hard and crashy plus the rears became very noisy even though they were probably only half worn. Recently I changed again for 4 Goodyear Eagle F1 asim3s 225/40/18 for £93 a corner fitted. Much better ride. Only time will tell how they wear.

Recently bought a pair of Yokohama BluEarth-A AE50 for the front and these seem really good, £75 a tyre fitted i paid, Surprised nobody has suggested them tbh

Have a look at Dunlop SportMaxx rt2's replaced my Eagle F1's with them seem to grip better. Check out tyrereviews on the web.

I have always used Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 but have noticed that the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 are out now, are these too new for anyone to have a decent idea if these are an improvement or otherwise?
