ticking noise

i bought a leon cupra 180bhp last week. fantastic car but iv noticed this little black box with a few pipes going into it at the left side of the engine start to tick quite loud 1s the car has warmed up. what is it and is it suposed to tick like this?

have you tried using the search mate as this is normal and nothing to worry about its something to with the emissions i think not to sure but if you type "ticking noise" in the search bit it should put your mind at rest

Carbon filter, just helps with emmisions, as has been said, comes up fairly often. Totally normal. nothing to worry about.
