HI guys,

I've recently taken the Leon of the road as ive just upgraded. original plan was to strip her down and forge the engine. but with buying a new house it doesn't look like it will be possible in he near future. So my question is do you think its worth £2k -£2.5k or do i break it ?Spec below:

Good points:
Splitter is present !
Platinum Grey
AMK Engine
Approx 96K
Mot Until July/ Aug 2015
Recent new front tyres
Clifford CAT 1 alarm with auto start
New thermostat (With full new coolant)
Pressed plate
HAd 2 oil changes since 94K
PCV Piping has been replaced
Stage 1 Revo Map
Eibach Pro Street Coilovers ( recently put new spring on them)
New HID Kit as the old now were looking a bit crappy
New oil Pick up pipe
FMIC
Forge 007
Liquid Gauge
Boost Guage with A Pillar Pod
Gen Cupra R 18 wheels with spare
the boot has been sound deadened
Toureg Rear Wiper
Heko Wind Deflectors all round
Jetex Cone Filter
Cold air feed from fog light
Standard 6 Disc CD changer
Polybushed Wishbones
Turbo inlet Pipe
Doors carriers have been resealed with butyl tape
Strut brace supplied but not fitted.
Will supply extra set of cast wishbones
Have all New wheel bearings ready to fit ( current ones are fine)
Bonnet Bra will be supplied

Engine Pulls Well in all gears, Boosts to 20 PSI and hold steady at 19PSI

Bad Points:

Will need a new ball joint as it knocks lightly
Cam tensioner seal is leaking- Will Supply new seal and tool to complete job
Exhaust is blowing - will supply a new standard down pipe
Prev owner put film on the light causing them to burn the lenses
Sump has slight leak from when the Oil Pick up pipe was done and hasnt sealed properly
Bodywork needs a little TLC (Stone Chipped bumper, needs a polish and a touch up on
passenger rear door)

Any help or advise would be helpfull

Cheap for a car of that spec but cause of the bad bits I'd say it's a good starting place!! I'd put it up for sale for a couple of weeks and if no interest then decide to break as you may make more money

Yeah im totting up what i could get breaking it.
even selling everything cheaply to sell quickly i would make the money.
I just cant stand seeing these cars being broken, but if there's enough interest i would consider it.

I'm not sure tbh I've been totting it up over the last couple days if i was to break it. I'll probably make more than 2.5k but I'll be sitting on it for a while.
Saying that I'd take 2250 to get it off my drive quickly

I broke my Golf 1.8t and made loads more in parts (enough to buy a Cupra R funnily enough) but unless you have the space and time it's a major PITA, I was lucky with some parts in the fact I had a mate that wanted the complete engine (he sold me the Cupra R too), the guy who bought my exhaust also decided he would have the shell, things like that made my mind up to do it.

But I see so many of these broke now due to the fact I think they are worth more in parts it's a shame as they are a damn good car for the money.

I toyed with getting rid of mine as I'll be lucky do do 1-2000 miles in mine a year but it owes me nothing and can sit in the garage till one day I have enough to fit forged rods and BBT Hybrid etc. I don't think if I sold it either I could buy anything nearly as good with the money.

Have fun if you decide to break it.

The plan was to garage it and forge the block but with just buying a house and the garage being full of building materials it going to take some time lol. I just bought an E60 535d so I would rather just get rid of the leon and put the money into the bmw. I don't even get time to use it on the weekends anymore, when I do find myself wanting to go out for fun drive the bmw puts a smile on my face and does 30mpg

I'll have the put it up for breaking and see what interest I get

I'd take both drivers side doors and bonnet when you get down to a shell depending on condition mate

Prices vary, I sold my 2004 Platinum last month, genuine 88k, new belts totally standard, Locks needed changing, and had a few scuffs & a dented rear arch, I sold it for £1750
