Thinking of buying a Bocanegra?!?!

Hi All

I am new to this and thinking of buying a Boc, I wanted to ask is the general though that the oil consumption issues are common? Also does any one know of any warranties that will cover that sort of thing if I don't get it from SEAT?

cheap insurance and tax
180bhp with dsg is brilliant

only thing could say is the oil for other peeps... mine drinks NONE..

phew, that's one lol.
I really like the idea of performance and mpg, hard to find in other cars I have looked at.

what are most peoples problems, is it always the oil thing?

Generally, it only seems to be the older models which have the problems. My dad owned a 10 plate boc which ended up with the oil problems (was using 1l every 400 or so miles) and loads of other stuff and was at the garage with it every other week. This of course had the old CAVE engine.

My facelift Cupra however (Nov '13 registered on a 63 plate) hasn't skipped a beat since I got it brand new. This has the newer CTHE engine and barely touches the oil - I got a good 10.5k and it only used just under half of the oil it had in it from when I got it. Older ones with no warranty are a total gamble and I would advise to buy only at your peril. However, if your budget can stretch to a facelift Cupra (I've seen them on very early 2013 "62" reg) then the chances of you having any problems are very low. This is just in my experience, obviously I can't speak for every older Boc and newer Cupra, but this seems to be the general consensus with everyone else too.

Although I've had problems, it's mainly with SEATs customer service(or lack of it)
I'd highly recommend the car, I absolutely love it!

Cheap tax, good on fuel, insurance not bad.
Cars a real head turner, everytime I go out I catch someone looking or staring at the car. On the motorway last week someone overtook me and the passenger was literally hanging out the window to get a good look hahah.
End of the day all cars have problems and all dealerships have awful customer service, it's just the trade.
You'll have a rare car that will keep up with cars that should be much quicker! It does run out of puff at about 60/70mph(This is where you tell it's a 1.4)

Upto that speed it's very quick.
I'd say go for it.

Also stone chips, I'd get a paint shield for the front end as soon as you buy it. Mine had ALOT after 2 weeks. And still does 7 months down the line.

2009 Cupra here!yea uses a bit of oil but i just keep an eye on it! Owned 18 months no problems wot soever,goes well drives well,fuel consumption is ok,cheap insurance(im over 40) love it and would buy another tomorrow!!!!

I have a 10 plate boc, did 500 miles in it in just over a week and had no issues with oil.

I love my Cupra. As mentioned above, great blend of performance, style and usability. It does use a little oil, but nothing crazy. Had it for over a year now and haven't had one issue.

I have a Boc and have had just a couple of minor issues - nothing mechanical; just electronically.

Mine is re-mapped with Revo stage 1 and is still running absolutely sweet as a nut after 4 months and around 1,600 miles.

I have a boc an Ive had mine since last September.. its had a new engine an a new turbo costing £5500 apart from that the car is brilliant would recommend to anyone
