Hi guys,

been driving the cupra for a while and am read for a change. Have fallen in love with the aero kit on the 2.0 tdi and basically have a few questions!
1. Although the cupra is faster etc from standard 180 compared to 140bhp with a remap will it feel faster its a diesel obv so the off the line speed wont be good but 30-70 will it push me into the seat as much as my cupra does?
2. the brakes in my cupra are amazing, will i notice any difference between these and the tdi? is the FR version with bigger brakes?
3. will the seats in the sport version of the tdi (reference etc) be as nice as my current cupra?
4. any idea of the 0-60 (i know its a diesel etc) of a remaped tdi? i think they push out 200bhp then? with lots of torque etc.
5. im assuming head unit still isnt replaceable?
6. ive seen them for 15k if i sell in 2 years im guessing they will be about 12.5k? thats with the aero kit

cheers!!

Hi guys,

1. Although the cupra is faster etc from standard 180 compared to 140bhp with a remap will it feel faster its a diesel obv so the off the line speed wont be good but 30-70 will it push me into the seat as much as my cupra does? Yes, if you're in the right gear and don't get clutch slip!
2. the brakes in my cupra are amazing, will i notice any difference between these and the tdi? is the FR version with bigger brakes? Yes, the 2.0 TDI doesn't have the best brakes when remapped, they stop okay though, I would think the FR has the same brakes as the Golf GTI which are bigger than the 140 ones but an easy swap over
3. will the seats in the sport version of the tdi (reference etc) be as nice as my current cupra? Yes, they're nice and grippy in the Sport
4. any idea of the 0-60 (i know its a diesel etc) of a remaped tdi? i think they push out 200bhp then? with lots of torque etc.Diesel will obviously have slower 0-60, but it's easier to do a fast 0-60 in a Diesel as they rev lower and the torque pushes you along nicely
5. im assuming head unit still isnt replaceable? It is replaceable using a different dash panel
6. ive seen them for 15k if i sell in 2 years im guessing they will be about 12.5k? thats with the aero kit only time will tell that one

cheers!!

No, the 'old' Cupra style brakes are similar to the 2.0 TDI, just that the car is heavier and the Diesel car takes it's vacuum feed differently IIRC and thus the pedal doesn't have such a good feel to it. The MK5 Golf GTI/ mk2 Leon FR brakes are similar to the Audi TT 225's 312mm set up and the Cupra R Brembos are in a different league again!
R32 brakes are retro fit-able on both models and bigger than the 312mm but hard to get hold of.
You will I guess already be aware that the new Leon has a different hub to the old one so you will need to source new platform parts for any upgrades.
