It is with some reluctance that our Ibiza has gone, Mrs Rooster had finally had enough of the very hard ride over our poor roads surfaces. I have thoroughly enjoyed this car for the last two years, it has turned out to be quite a quick little car from a to b especially cross country, and more than capable of holding its own. The fuel consumption has also been good no doubt due to the ACT engine regularly achieving around 55mpg unless driven a bit harder. I would recommend one, if you could put up with the stiff ride. Going to have to change my pic now!

I know what you mean mate, I felt a tinge of sadness when I swapped out my FR ACT for a Cupra.

Spot-on about the harsh ride though, I was honestly so surprised by how much softer and more comfortable the Cupra is (when driven in normal suspension mode at least).

My remapped FR was a very "raw" car if you know what I mean, and actually felt more like an old-school hot hatch than the Cupra. Cupra generally feels more like a pocket GT in that it can shift when you want it to but actually lends itself better to leisurely driving.

What are you planning on replacing it with?

Nearly 4 years on with my ACT but no plans to sell up. Best all rounder I have had. Agree ride can be stiff. Mpg is one of its positives and even flooring it doesn't drastically alter it. Another Seat in the works

Nice,

The FR ACT is probably the best all rounder in the 6J Ibiza range, it is fast in the real world and great on the mpg. It tends to beat the smaller TSI engines on economy due to the cylinder deactivation and higher levels of torque.

The Cupra will do between 35-40mpg on my daily 11 mile commute, which is better than I was expecting. Can go over 40 on a motorway run.

Have you done any modifications over your 4 years of ownership?

Mrs Roosters gone all "comfort mode" in a Golf 1.4 TSi Match Edition. It is a nicer ride, but...................not as much fun!

The wife has the 1.2 TSI and its unable to reach as high an mpg on similar daily routes. ACT really helps on motorways and constant speed driving.

Done some minor aesthetic mods but nothing major really. Final finance payment is due in October. So until I make that payment I don't feel as if the car is fully mine. Plan on making a thread in the reader ride section soon hopefully. But I do have some planned mods.

Think if I chose again I would get something similar and a toy for the garage!

Yeah fair enough mate, wait until all the payments are out of the way. Would be good to see some pictures of it.

The 1.4 ACT can be remapped very easily to 170-180bhp without any hardware modifications at all. With the remap, mine ran about 180 and it pulled much stronger all over the rev range, it was particularly improved in the top end.

Yeh will get some up over this week. Its nothing out the ordinary pretty stock. Glad to hear the difference at top end. Bottom end its great up to about 4k and then it just dies out and you have to change up. Exhaust first on my list as its so quiet. Quietest car I have ever owned.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm stunned by the MPG you got. Mine has been getting 40mpg calculated from fuel receipts and the odo, the onboard computer will claim as high as 47 though. Did you know when your ACT was working?

Im sure it depends on driving conditions if you do just highway at reasonable speeds you can expect at least +10mpg than otherwise, and that is true for all cars...
