Just had an idea.. So a mate of mine who lives about a 2 minute drive away has their own garage which they don't use. If I were to put down that it was stored in a garage overnight would they ever actually check up on this? As I could just use this garage as evidence.

Also, would putting down I'm a student be cheaper?! I put down that I was a Sales Assistant rather than Student..

I don't think they will check, but what would happen if your car gets nicked from outside your house when its meant to be in the garage?

I can just say I parked it there for just that night. They can't honestly expect you to park your car where you have put down every single night!

Not sure, i ain't no expert on these matters. But having dealt with a few claims in the past they will do/say anything to get out of paying up for stuff.

If it brings the quote down id go for it. As for the student part, i think they just want to see that your doing something with your life, ie not unemployed.
Doubt it will make a difference if you say sales assistant or student, as long as your not classd as unemployed.

Well, I put down that I'm a Prison Officer to see what it gave me (My Dad is trying to get me a job there so thought I'd try it out) and it knocked a whopping £150 off!

Going to do the Institute of Advanced Motorists course - £65 for the course, teaches you to be a more efficient driver and saves at least 25% off my insurance! :D Which I would guess would be more on an 18 year old. I doubt there's many at my age that do it..

Make sure you check with the insurance company that taking the course WILL reduce your premium. Ive heard rumors where some insurance companies were not that botherd about the course and didn't reduce the premiums.
