The dashboard, removal?

How hard is it to remove the dashboard?

That would be in one piece and not broke because I am contemplating getting it flocked.

Would it then be a double pain in the arse to put back in?

Anyone removed there dash and had to put it back in?

I have not done it in my ibiza but i done it in one of my sierras and my bit of advice is mark every multiplug or piece of wire with masking tape writing on what each one is. that way makes it nice and easy :D to wire it back up but i have no idea about removal techniques

What does 'flocking' the dashboard mean?

What does 'flocking' the dashboard mean?

Covering the dashboard in fabric. All WRC cars have it done to stop glare from the dash onto the windscreena dn from it blinding the drivers.

like so:

its not fabric in the traditional sense of the word, its minute nylon strands, length and denier to your specification are glued onto the dash via electrostatic which gives a uniform pattern and long lasting. rally drivers use it to stop glare off the leather look dashes.

i've taken the dash out of mine to fit the MK3 one

from memory there bolted in the following places

4 10mm nuts at the very top (2 behind the instrument cluster and 2 behind the glove box/airbag)

8mm nut either end of the dash covered by a plastic cover

10mm nut behind the centre console holding an L shaped bracket in

the plugs for instruments etc will just need disconnecting but the wiring loom is cable tied and cliped to the dash in various places so will need cutting undoing to get it out, couple of hours work should see it out easily
